Sinner's 2026 was shaping up to be one of the greatest seasons of all time...

This just proves that the Big Three's physical condition is truly freakish, not every player can stay healthy through an entire season and still win that many titles.

Djokovic's knees might be the single most durable body part in tennis history. Sinner is the closest to peak Djokovic and his knees only made it to 25 before his first serious injury. Its kinda nuts that Novak played how he did and didn't have a big injury until he was 37.

Novak had an elbow injury around 2016-2018 that kept him from winning much in that time frame

His stubborn side cost him several titles, including delaying surgery when injured and that whole vaccine situation.

Stubborness (инат) is part of the package for Nole (check the Prime documentary). It helps him during tight matches but leads to some questionnable decision-making off-court.

I know, but I'm talking about his knees, not his elbow...

I feel like a huge part of it comes down to his insane flexibility, players who can do full splits comfortably are going to have a much lower injury risk than everyone else.

elbow has the same importnace that the knee does so

10. u/SleepingAntz · 2026-10-21 15:55 UTC

That is not the point of my original comment though lol. What I wrote was that Djokovic's knees are incredibly durable.

Talking about elbows is both 1) not reading what I originally wrote and 2) proving my point.

I have read and yeah his keens are durable as proven many times , probably due to a good combo of luck and hard work

I do not agree that Sinner is the closest thing to peak Djokovic, the Big Three have many individual seasons with achievements that are still far better than Sinner's right now.

Oh, so this comment got downvoted, looks like it touched a raw nerve for some people.

I meant in terms of playstyle - thats why the comment was centered around their knee injuries

Nadal is an absolute freak in this regard, despite constantly suffering from injuries, he always manages to come back, even winning Grand Slams at the advanced age of 35, whereas regular players often do not even know if they can return after getting injured.

15. u/Dangerousrhymes · 2026-10-21 15:11 UTC

The foot he broke after his first French Open never fully healed and he won another 21 Slams anyways.

It makes me wonder what his career would have been like if he didn’t have Muller-Weiss.

16. u/Impossible-Bee-5343 · 2026-10-21 16:09 UTC

Honestly, he is a absolute monster... honestly all of the Big Three are.

Alcaraz doesn't have a single season close to Federer's 2004-7, but people keep hailing Carlos as the second coming of Roger. I don't see why you are getting disturbed when Sinner is compared to Djokovic in terms of playing style. Obviously the similarities are partial - Sinner is more aggressive; while young Djokovic would gladly murder you with grinding.

18. u/Impossible-Bee-5343 · 2026-10-21 16:21 UTC

This is all the doing of Sinner and Alcaraz fans. They claim Alcaraz is the most complete player in history, that his drop shots are flawless and better than Federer's, and that Sinner is Djokovic 2.0 with more speed and power. Yet they cannot even finish the 2026 season, and their toughest rival is just Zverev. I almost feel bad bursting their bubble.

19. u/milan_fan88 · 2026-10-21 16:26 UTC

You've missed the part where Carlos has invented tennis and is extremely dominant.

20. u/milan_fan88 · 2026-10-21 14:47 UTC

*Djokovic and Federer are. Nadal had multiple seasons with serious injuries.
